I have been active in the IT sector since 2004 and have contributed to the growth of AFAS Software from the very beginning. My journey within AFAS took a special turn in 2009 when the Dutch parent company decided to acquire AFAS Belgium NV. Intrigued by this new challenge, I moved to Belgium to contribute to the establishment of our Belgian branch. With a team of five people, we started building a new business. Now, 15 years later, I am the director, and we have 60 employees thanks to our innovative approach and company culture.
As a speaker, I have been particularly involved since 2022, when we moved into our new building in Kontich, and the opportunity arose to share our knowledge and experience with a wider audience.
My work as a speaker is often closely connected to the activities of AFAS Software. Although I have not received separate compensation for my appearances so far, I am happy to contribute to initiatives that align with our company values, often in the form of a barter exchange. For example, I contributed as a guest speaker at the first well-being festival in Belgium by Workbeats, which promotes a better work-life balance.
