Medtronic announces first procedure in Europe with Hugo™ robotic-assisted surgery system
Medtronic plc, a global leader in healthcare technology, and OLV Hospital Aalst announced that the first clinical procedure in Europe was performed with the Hugo™ robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) system. The robotic prostatectomy was performed by Prof. Alexandre Mottrie, M.D., head of urology at OLV Hospital in Aalst, Belgium, and chief executive officer and founder of the Belgium-based ORSI Academy, a multidisciplinary center for training, research and development, and data analysis to improve minimally invasive surgery best practices.

Flemish Minister of Mobility and Public Works Lydia Peeters, together with Mayor of Vilvoorde Hans Bonte, inaugurated the first four 350 kW ultra-fast charging points of Europe’s largest high-power charging network IONITY on the Brussels Ring on the innovation campus of Living Tomorrow.

By 2030 only digital meters in Flanders
On 18 February 2022, a young family in Ninove in one go received three new utility meters in their home, all three replacing their existing analogue meters for gas, electricity and ... drinking water. Hence they kicked-off of a pilot project in which three Flemish drinking water companies jointly work together with network company Fluvius to install the new energy and water meters simultaneously for their customers. In this way, any inconvenience for customers is kept to a minimum, while beneficial effects are also achieved in other areas.
